Boil the potatoes in their skins, peel them, leave them to cool and cut them into slices. Usually for this recipe the eggs are boiled hard but I beat them. The ham is cut into thicker strips and then diced. Grease a unbreakable glass bowl with butter, place a row of potato slices, dust with a pinch of salt, pepper, put a row of diced ham, grated cheese, and pour over them beaten eggs and sour cream and repeat the rows.
Put the dish in the oven to brown the potatoes. Serve hot.
